It is made with a pure lamb's wool pile on a cotton base, dyed using traditional methods in shades of red/maroon, pink, blues, beige, brown, and orange. The central medallion showcases a scrolling floral design, renowned as Arabesque. It is hand-woven in the city of Mashad in East Persia and measures 350 x 250 cm. This exquisite piece would have taken two weavers approximately 12 months to complete. Its gallery replacement value is estimated at $7900.
